Few facts about wine
The custom of breaking wine glasses originated in Ancient Rome. When celebrating, we usually break glasses to celebrate important occasions and wish for health, happiness, and success. The Romans also had this habit.
In ancient Greece, the Pythagorean cup was popular for promoting moderation. A cleverly designed ceramic cup was usually two-colored or had a lineup to which the product could be poured. A person who greedily filled the cup would remain thirsty. The liquid escaped through a small hole at the bottom.
The ancient Egyptians detested wine. While wine has been and still is a part of many cultures, in Ancient Egypt, this drink was considered taboo. The Egyptians thought that wine is related to the blood of those who fought against the gods and, therefore, avoided it. It was thought that those who drank wine risked insulting the gods and that their own blood would be spilled and turned into the liquid.
