Have you ever wondered what role currency plays for countries' people. It is quite understandable the more currency the country has, the better quality of life its people enjoy. For example, if we compare people's life in well developed countries with developing ones, we can notice a huge difference. Having more currency people from richer countries have the opportunity to travel all over the world. In such a way, their awareness of global world, cultural diversity is much deeper. Also, getting acquainted with historical and cultural heritage of different countries people are much more intelligent and broad minded. A huge amount of currency ensures shopping without any frustration. That means you do not think if some money is left for paying bills.

Another major thing concerning currency is getting education in any world country. Money is a tool to study at any foreign university if your desire is participation in the competitive world market. So currency make our dreams come true not only enriching ourselves as personalities but also solving a wide variety of problems.

However, there are no any possibilities to escape from death or any other painful feelings even if your location is in the country where its residents have high living standard. Love , friendship. care can not be bought for any currency. Positive thinking, optimism, supporting others should bring us happiness. On the whole, we need to cherish surrounding people and true values of life.

But it is often argued that wealth and happiness are quite diverse businesses. It means that being prosperous is not always becoming rich. The understanding of the importance of currency is complex. For example, having a huge amount of currencies provides opportunities to travel to any dream country. If your pocket is full of banknotes, you are free to live in a five-star hotel, enjoy the best service and admire cultural events without any fear if there are any coins left.

Another significant moment is the purpose of cash in our daily life. It gives financial freedom to make specific purposes come true. According to your wishes, needs you can enjoy the best living conditions, you are free what to purchase or what leisure activities to choose. Therefore, such a stable situation when goals are achieved so easily makes people more self-esteem, energetic, and optimistic comparing to those whose income is so low as to make both ends meet. Everyone knows that the world has a wide variety of currencies. Money is extremely important for our society. Almost every economy of each country is based on banknotes and coins. The form of this phenomenon can differ, but the essence is the same. Long ago there was quite a different situation. Ancient societies were based on marketplaces, which were exchanging goods and bartering. Equal value was decided by themselves. Barter trade is still used in some business activities of countries. It is more common in village life. But nowadays it is not spread so widely as in ancient times. It is too difficult to compare such variety of goods. For instance, eggs to computer is not easy to exchange. Furthermore, nobody wants to do it and be failed.

So humanity invented a more suitable method of exchanging. People chose something valuable to trade all goods. It was a very important break in the world's history. Salt was the main currency among Roman soldiers. They received a part of salary in salt. It can be treated as primitive form of salary. Some other examples show that shells and stones were another form of exchanging goods. It was spread in the islands Southern Pacific. There were even skulls and teeth which were used in trade of some cultures. Also other money was involved in human pay: tobacco,feathers, cows, pigs, sheep and ivory.

In 700 BC the Lydians in Asia Minor created the first true money and it was recognized widely. The revolutionary idea included gold and silver coins. Portability and durability were very convenient for consumers. It was comfortable because there were smaller and larger sizes. Then division, measurement and calculation became very simple.

Various sizes, metals and forms were used to mint coins. The amount of precious metals described the value of coins. But some problems arose in medieval times. One of the problems was that coins weighted too much. Besides the size of coins was a complicated thing too. One more problem, worth mentioning was that consumers began to shave off some amount of the priceless metals.

Talking about the first paper money it was introduced in China in the 9th century. Europe delayed to issue paper banknotes till the 17th century. Banknotes are, in real terms, meaningless. They are similar to coins nowadays, it is based only on trust of country's government. It is noticed that paper money arises plenty of problems too. Inflation can affect the value of paper money too much. That happens very often. Also it is related to crimes, which are committed in order to rob banks, companies or consumers. Counterfeitering is spread widely. It seems not to end forever.

Legal acts are released with the purpose to stop it. Banknotes became very complicated and sophisticated. They are very beautiful design, which covers protection signs. Each country has its famous heroes and politicians which portraits are used for the notes. That has precious and important value for that country. Governments try to manipulate currency and prices. The value of banknotes, which was high a few years ago, can be incredibly denominated. There are cases in mankind history when banknotes became cheaper than toilet paper.

It is interesting to find out the future of currency. Plastic is considered to be useful and valuable in money system. But it is also a paradox, because what was worthless, is now appreciated greatly. In reality, the plastic credit cards, which are carried every day, can say more about everyone than one can imagine. Coins and banknotes in your pocket can not be so informative. But plastic system causes some problems. One of them is that computer frauds are unavoidable. Another thing is that the wish to live beyond your opportunities is limitless and there are cases when your priceless card is lost or 'eaten' by the bank machines.

There are various predictions about development of money in the future. That might microchips which are hidden inside human body. They will carry lots of information about consumers. In fact money is simple information and it can be understood as an electronic code inside a computer. Some scientists predict that one day computer chips containing all that information might be inserted into our skin. Let’s hope that such similar society is not going to happen.

All in all, the history of currency is various, interesting and followed by great misunderstandings and society breaks.
